"Opinion: My cat Pharaoh got into a fight with another cat and was insured I thought he had ticks on him but the Vet found battle wounds that were infected and he was running a fever but the Vet did a great job treating him."

"Opinion: This place killed my dog! This was before the new building. Took my dog on 4 different occasions, complaining of excessive thirst! They did blood work and always came back and said all is normal. The last occasion, she was NOT ok! Puking blood! Lethargic! Lost SOOO much weight! They drew blood again and came back and said all is normal. My Dog was rescued from SPCA and spayed before we got her. This "VET" tried to tell me she wasn$0027t fixed and her problems were because her uterus was swollen. (They never did an ultrasound!) Said to help her, we had to invest in over $2k for an experimental procedure that they didn$0027t do but she would have to go to Richmond for it. I would have given my entire legs and arms to save my baby! I just didn$0027t have that kind of money.. left crying and heartbroken... but then my medical experience kicked in.. I am a Medical Coder by trade and have worked in MANY different fields! thirst, weight loss, puking blood... my dog was NOT ok! and it had nothing to do with her uterus! I ran back to that clinic and grabbed her blood result records they just took...her Glucose was 800+ on that report! I was SICK TO MY STOMACH when I saw that! My poor baby was in DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis)! I took her to Dr Webb at Crater Rd Vet in Petersburg. They had to keep her.. gave her iv zofran, iv fluids, insulin, diabetic friendly diet...did xrays and... get this... AN ULTRASOUND to check her UTERUS! guess what? Her uterus was NORMAL! They had to keep her for several days, including the weekend.. On Monday.. I got a call and it was the happiest call I ever got! My baby girl escaped her crate sometime through the weekend and when staff came in on Monday, she greeted them at the front door with a smile and tail wag (AKA her entire back end wagging lol) We learned how to give her daily insulin shots and what a doggy diabetic diet was... and with all she got.. I was ready to get a second mortgage! Yet, all of her care... 5 days vetted.. iv fluids.. iv zofran.. Special food diet... ect.. all of that.. I really thought I$0027d have to sell my kidney t to pay for this! LOL total cost was $400! Hopewell Animal Hospital charged us $600 just for blood work and to be seen!"
