"Opinion: I was visiting family graves with my elderly aunt on 7.15.24. We saw work being done to clear overgrown plant life and my aunt wanted to talk to the workers to let them know about her efforts to keep up the area. Robby (the new groundskeeper) introduced himself and spent a good amount of time talking with my aunt about staffing changes, efforts that are being made to revitalize the park, and the timeline of how long it would take to return the cemetery to it$0027s former glory. My aunt loves landscaping, and was excited to tell him about the things she had done to maintain our family plots. He was patient and happy to speak with us, and let us know that there is a plan for removal of the numerous dead trees, and maintenance of the areas where headstones have fallen. There is a lot to be done, but we appreciated hearing what steps are being taken to revitalize the park. In addition, Robby was so kind to my aunt and I appreciated the time he took out of the day to speak with us."

"Opinion: I$0027ve have been visiting Forest Park Cemetery and family gravesites there my entire 56 years of life, and this place is a complete disgrace now!!! Un mowed, unkept is an understatement!! I$0027ve heard that families are so outraged that they have actually had loved ones exhumed and placed elsewhere. That was the first thought I had Thursday after entering the grounds. The only problem is 85 percent of my family is there and it would be extremely costly to say the least. It is obvious that we all can kiss the perpetual care we paid for goodbye. This was such a heart breaking site."
